First Dance Studios is a performing arts group based in Montego Bay that offers classes to students of all ages. We offer a variety of dance styles as well as music, acting, modeling and gymnastics, all taught at levels suitable for participants in a fun, creative atmosphere. Since inception, it has been our goal to build a center for arts in Western Jamaica that will seek to expand our current offerings, add to the cultural retention of our people and provide development opportunities for future employment in the Arts for our youth in Western Jamaica. It sure has been a mammoth task but we have managed to create a greater awareness and appreciation for the need for more options and have we are now serving over 79 students in our program. Our milestones include: 1. Winning 9 medals for our country at the World Championships of Performing Arts held in Hollywood in the categories of Dance, Music, and Drama. 2. Winning a total of 33 medals and 3 trophies at the JCDC local Dance competition. 3. Successful completion of 5 years of summer program impacting 241 lives 4. Presenting first world annual performance showcases over the past 5 years. 5. Teaching a weekly dance program serving 79 students from 19 schools 6. Offering a scholarship to 10 students annually 7. Hosting international instructors annually from Germany, Uk, Canada & USA. We continue to raise the awareness that the arts will create jobs and grow our local economy and we crave your support to assist us in providing this opportunity to all, enriching the spirit, enlivening the imagination, while celebrating life and art.
